Apps and Services

Checking status of Nebula apps and services...

Welcome to Nebula Core!

Nebula Core is a privately owned an operated "cloud services" provider built and maintained by Victor Rossi, a hobbyist designer, photographer, and tech enthusiast. Nebula Core is the central component in a growing network of machines and services, and aims to reduce Nebula users' reliance on major cloud platform providers like Google or Amazon.

If you've got a Nebula account (formerly Catserver account), log in with your credentials in the upper right. Having an account allows you to access the full array of features and services offered by Nebula Core, and allows you to provide some feedback, if you see fit. It's pretty neato.

If you need an account, send me an email and I'll set you up. Due to limited resources, accounts are only provided to friends and family at this time.

2012-08-06: For those people experiencing the Window 8 web browser (Chrome) crash on Intel hardware...

My primary computer is an Sandy Bridge powered notebook with Intel and Nvidia graphics, a Core i7 2720qm Processor and 8gb of memory, currently running Windows 8 release preview. A common problem that I, and many other people as I've read, have been experiencing is what I've begun to refer to as the "slow crash". For me, this only ever happens when using a web browser, primarily Chrome. Here are the symptoms:

1. Chrome becomes unresponsive. You may still be able to click on tabs, but pages wont scroll/refresh.

2. If task manager is opened, it usually reports higher than average CPU usage. You will not be able to end Chrome's task. Task manager will them become increasingly unresponsive.

3. If Explorer or Desktop is opened, files and folders can be interacted with (selected) but not opened. This continues for about a minute.

4. If Metro is opened, tiles will be selectable (with animation)

2012-08-06: Announcements of future stuff. No Dates or promises!

So like always, as almost an annual occurrence, I'm *officially* announcing some major things in store for the future of Catserver and the Catserver Networks "family". I just can't seem to leave well enough alone, can I?

First off, a point release to Catserver.net is on the horizon. No major design change this time around, just some tidying up. Unfortunately there's a massive amount of work that needs to be done before its back end is even close to being ready, which brings me to my next announcement...

Nebula CMS, Catserver's first official product. Designed from the ground up to support Catserver and similar sites, Nebula CMS will eventually offer Wordpress-like features and functionality all while being quick, compact, and highly adaptable. I hope.

Nebula Foundry, my forgotten portfolio site. I know it's been sitting derelict for over a year now, but I intend to change that...someday. Once N... [Read more]

2012-04-28: The Minecraft server now has a new admin - and it isn't me!

Technically this happened awhile back, but I hadn't remember to post about it. Rakosmanjr, brother to Rakosman (a long time Catserver member), has taken over all operation of the Minecraft server. For you guys, this means that the server will actually be maintained and updated - something I've failed to do for quite some time. If you've been itching to play a little MC (not the Hammer kind), you should definitely check it out. But please, don't destroy my house.

2012-03-30: Catserver.net and related sites will be going offline tonight, for a few hours.

I've finally purchased additional storage for Catserver's "Public" data store, but to implement it into the existing array, the server must be shutdown for some time. Service may be available intermittently during the transfer, but expect no access to the Public Storage or Accounts drives. Minecraft may also be offline as well. Thanks for your patience, peeps!
